Dear Parents,

Hello from the team at Bragg Creek Education Services Association! BCESA is a private service provider that partners many preschools and daycares to administer Alberta Education funding for children who have been identified with a variety of learning needs. With years of experience, BCESA is committed to supporting families in a capacity that best suits their educational needs in the classroom, at home and online.

Through BECSA, a team of educational specialist (Certified Teacher, Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Behaviour Strategist, etc.) screen and assess young children ages 3-5 years to identify possible areas of focus in speech-language, fine/gross motor, and sensory development. If needs are identified, your child might be eligible for assistance funded by Alberta Education, which is designed to get children ready for grade school. Parents will be contacted regarding any findings from

the screening and assessment.

Please let us know if your child has received services in the past or if your child has received a diagnosis. Children enrolled in public Kindergarten for the 2025/26 school year are not eligible

for screening through BCESA as the school is responsible for specialized services. Alberta Education services operate during the school calendar and are provided from September to

June. Please note, a child must be registered and regularly attend a daycare/preschool or private kindergarten program to receive this funding. Children who qualify for Mild/Moderate funding must be registered for 475 hours/year (Sep-June) and Program Unit Funding (moderate/severe) children must be registered for 300-400 hours/year (Sep-June).

Consent to the Screening/Assessment and BCESA Therapy Services provides permission for our team to screen and assess your child in class and later provide therapy on-site for those who qualify.

If you have any questions, concerns or want to discuss your child’s specific needs, please contact the classroom teacher. If you have any specific questions regarding Alberta Education funding or specialized services, please contact info@braggcreekeduationservices.com

Sincerely,

BCESA Team
